Interested in OB/GYN? Curious how evidence shapes real-time decision-making on labour and delivery? Join MOGIG for our 2026 OB/GYN Journal Club!
This year, we’re diving into a clinically rich and procedure-focused topic: External Cephalic Version (ECV) — because when it comes to breech baby management, sometimes the goal really is to turn things around!
We’re excited to host an engaging and interactive session featuring Dr. Mohammad Jamal a PGY5 in Obstetrics & Gynecology at McGill University, who will help guide our discussion and share practical insights from the front lines of tertiary care obstetrics.
We’ll be discussing: Rusnell, L., Blair, A., Cooper, S., & Brar, S. (2024). External Cephalic Version: A Retrospective Chart Review at a Canadian Tertiary Care Centre. Journal of Obstetrics and Gynaecology Canada (JOGC), 46(11), 102662. https://doi.org/10.1016/j.jogc.2024.102662
Together, we’ll explore:
• ECV success rates in a Canadian tertiary care setting
• Predictors of successful version
• Maternal and neonatal outcomes
• How this evidence informs counselling and delivery planning
Whether you’re OB-curious, OB-committed, or looking to strengthen your critical appraisal skills, this session is designed to be welcoming, discussion-based, and clinically relevant.
